Certificate in Effective Practice in Gifted Education

This course has been designed to equip you with a range of thoroughly practical tools and strategies to help you work effectively with gifted learners.

Certificate in Effective Practice in Gifted Education

It’s written and taught by educators with real expertise in this field, based not only on their comprehensive academic knowledge but also on many years of themselves working directly with gifted children, their classroom teachers, and their parents.

It’s built round three interwoven themes, understanding, identifying and teaching gifted learners, and covers all your most frequently asked questions, whether you‘re working in early childhood, primary or at high school level.

Sample range of topics:
defining giftedness, understanding the behaviour of gifted children, identification as a process, testing vs. qualitative data, using the interview, why giftedness is often not identified, building the right learning environment, raising motivation, organisational skills and the gifted, setting a high level of challenge, social issues, defining the goals of gifted education, creativity and giftedness, cultural differences, working with parents, IEPs, evaluating programmes, etc etc.

The course comes in 11 fortnightly modules delivered online in a format designed to be easy to use - you‘ll need only basic computer skills. You’ll also receive a package of thought-provoking reading materials and handy resources such as checklists and questionnaires, and you’ll have the guidance and support throughout of your own online tutor. Our material has been developed to take into account your available time and energy as a busy teacher. At the same time we guarantee it will challenge your thinking, encourage your imagination and keep you as well as your students interested throughout!
